Grant Writer/Special Projects Manager

SALARY: $37,000.00 – $58,000.00
Position Summary
This position is responsible for performing administrative/clerical duties, preparation of annual grant applications and processing, maintaining revenue and expenditure worksheets for all grants and special projects.  This position is performed under the general supervision of the County Manager who may provide assignments and instruction, determines objectives, priorities, and deadlines, and who assists the employee in unusual situations. The employee also uses own initiative and judgment to perform work in an independent and timely manner in accordance with precedents and established policies and procedures.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities-Tasks include but are not limited to:
• Assists in the preparation of grant applications and processing & maintaining of grant documents.
• Maintains communication between the County and the grant entity, ensuring all proper documentation and information is given.
• Maintains revenue and expenditure worksheet for all grants and construction/special projects, using accounting procedures on all grants.
• Reconciles special grants and contracts, prepares requests for reimbursement, maintains grant files; prepares open agreements and reports monthly and /or quarterly grant status; prepares account receivable report of anticipated reimbursements and monthly grant revenue; completes annual grant applications and financials for County Departments.
• Responsible for working with all County Departments in preparing the County’s annual Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP).
• Must perform specific, basis departmental functions and must perform basic arithmetical computations as well as enter data in the computer system.
• Employees must become familiar with and understand the State Purchasing statutes and County Purchasing Policy, and all County and departmental policies pertinent to the position.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Knowledge of standard office procedures and practices

• Experience in Grant Writing
• Accounting experience, preferably in government accounting.

COLFAX COUNTY Job Posting. Job title-Road and Bridge Maintenance Operator. Pay Status- Non- Exempt.  Reports to Road Department Superintendent. Salary-Depends on experience. Date Close-February 10.
Position Summary: Under supervision of the County Road Superintendent, performs maintenance on County roads and bridges and other County property and other duties as assigned. Work involves performing semi-skilled tasks to maintain roads and bridges, culverts and cattle guards.
Minimum Qualifications:
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Must have Class A CDL.
• Must have three (3) years of road experience or relevant.
• Must pass road equipment test at time of interview.
• Knowledge of the methods, materials and road equipment operation, as well as care and basic maintenance
Working Conditions:
• Performs work indoors (25%) and outdoors (75%).  Most cabs are enclosed and may or may not have heating and air conditions units.
• Temperature extremes depend upon weather conditions.  Employee may be exposed to extreme cold and hot temperatures and humid conditions.
• Employee may be exposed to noise intermittently while operating equipment.
• Employee may be exposed to intermittently body vibration while operating equipment.
• Employee is exposed to normal hazards associated with equipment operation and driving perhaps in severe weather conditions and on hazardous terrain.
• Employee may be exposed to exhaust fumes, petroleum product odors, dusts and mists.
• Performs work on even or uneven surface which could be on concrete, asphalt, or natural ground.  Employee may be required to work inclined surfaces or ramps and may use a ladder. The working surface may be dry, wet or greasy.
• Employee may work alone with or without direction, may work with one or two people, or with a large group of people.
• Work is conducted primarily during daylight hours.

COLFAX COUNTY Job Posting. Job title- Colfax DWI Prevention Specialist. Pay Status- Contract,Exempt.  Reports to DWI Program Coordinator. Salary-DOE. Date Close-December 1, 2022.
Position Summary: Under general direction of the DWI Coordinator, the prevention specialist will organize and particpate in DWI public relations.
Minimum Qualifications: • A High School Diploma or GED. Some college is preferred.
• Must have a Valid Driver’s license and be willing to travel.  Must have transportation for travel.
• Experience with community-based organizations.
• Experience working with youth and/or families.
• Must have computer-based skills.
Working conditions:
Work is performed in field setting in Colfax Counties.  Travel WILL be required.  Work schedule may include irregular hours.  Work may require frequent bending, reaching and lifting, pushing and carrying items (books, reports, etc.) up to (30) pounds.  Employee will have to set up prevention material at events (such as tables and chairs, etc.)  Extended periods of sitting per day, may be up to four hours.  Occasional use of stairs.
