Job Description/Requirements: The Operator provides for the safe operation of water and wastewater facilities in compliance with Federal, State and Local requirements for the operation of water treatment, distribution, storage facilities and wastewater collection. Responsible for the operations, routine servicing and care of a wide variety of specialized equipment and including pumps, motors, chemical preparation, control of equipment and monitoring equipment. Maintains records of operations, completes and submits routine and special reports as assigned. Performs related field and laboratory tests, which are necessary to monitor and control the facilities, and makes necessary adjustments to equipment, processes and chemical feeders. Operates and assists in repairs to water/wastewater systems and plants, responds to emergency callouts. Responsible for submitting all monthly quarterly and other reporting required by the State.
Must be available for overtime and on call as well as weekend and holiday coverage. Work in all weather conditions. Must be computer proficient and have strong interpersonal skills.
Certifications: Water Treatment-Class A Wastewater Treatment-Class C with the ability to become a Class B Distribution and Collection-Class 1
