HELP WANTED

Notice is hereby given that; Huerfano County is accepting applications for a Land Use Director. This is a full-time position; the position is benefit eligible with a salary of $55,000. to $70,000.
Manages, coordinates and supervises all aspects of the Land Use Department. This includes overseeing building and code enforcement staff, and the application and enforcement of zoning and subdivision regulations, marijuana licensing and other land uses within the County to ensure the prompt and efficient operation of the office. Prepares all Land Use applications for review by the Planning Commission. Schedules Planning Commission meetings and records all proceedings.  Works with the County Administrator, County Attorney, Board of County Commissioners and the Planning Commission to establish regulations and policies to promote the health, safety, welfare, and quality of life for the citizens and properties within unincorporated Huerfano County. Develops long range land use goals to guide the sustainable growth of the county, generates and implements policies and regulations to obtain those goals through communication with residents, officials and agencies, administration and enforcement of policies and regulations for the betterment of Huerfano County.
Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Business Administration or Public Administration, or closely related field from an accredited college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience; or equivalent related experience or training 2 to 6 years. Preferred experience in plan review, zoning administration, surveying and development consultancy.
A pre-employment Drug Test and a Background Investigation will be required.

Performs related field and laboratory tests, which are necessary to monitor and control the facilities, and makes necessary adjustments to equipment, processes and chemical feeders. Operates and assists in repairs to water/wastewater systems and plants, responds to emergency callouts. Responsible for submitting all monthly quarterly and other reporting required by the State.
Must be available for overtime and on call as well as weekend and holiday coverage. Work in all weather conditions. Must be computer proficient and have strong interpersonal skills.
Certifications: Water Treatment-Class A Wastewater Treatment-Class C with the ability to become a Class B Distribution and Collection-Class 1
