LA VETA- February 25th 7:45- The Lady Redskins advanced to the second round of the Class 1A District tournament, by beating the Bulldogs of Primero 91-27. The game is set for 3 pm at Adams State College in Alamosa this Thursday. Their opponent will be the Creede- Sierra Grande game later this evening. The number one and number two teams emerging from Alamosa will travel to Gunnison next week in a one game, winner takes all trip to State. The Skins′ journey begins Thursday.
The Skins played a solid game both defensively and offensively. Their first half full court press held the Dogs to 9 points. Coach Smith played the reserves for most of the game, making sure all the girls saw action. Shelby Morgan and Carlee Koutnik were the hot-shots, hitting 25 and 17 points respectively.
