Overnight robbery at Alta Convenience Store in Trinidad

TRINIDAD — According to a press release from local authorities, the Trinidad Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting an armed robbery at the Alta Convenience Store at 305 State Street on Sunday, February 4, 2018, at approximately 6:30 am.
The police were told that a suspect wearing a mask entered the store with a weapon and demanded the cashier give him the money.  The cashier complied and the suspect then left the store on foot.  Officers were unable to locate anyone matching the description of the suspect.
On Tuesday Feb. 6, Trinidad Police Department officers executed a search warrant for property taken from the Alta Convenience Store, at the Western Apartments at 411 North Avenue.
Police are reporting no suspects have been taken into custody.  The robbery is still under investigation.
So far in 2018 six burglaries have been reported in Trinidad.
