Obituary Roy Eloy Martinez

Roy Eloy Martinez 2-4-1920 ~ 12-5-2014 Roy Eloy Martinez, 94, of Walsenburg, passed away December 5, 2014. Born February 4, 1920, Roy grew up around Walsenburg before serving with the U.S. Army in the Pacific. He was a survivor of Pearl Harbor. After returning home, he was employed at the C.F.&I. Steel Mill in Pueblo. He enjoyed being with his family and was also a fan of the Denver Broncos. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Pantaleone and Angelita Martinez, a sister, Genevieve Marquez, and a grandson, Robert A. Goemmer. He is survived by his wife, Stella Martinez, and his children, Roy Martinez (Maria), LaVerne Lohringel (Bill), Dale Martinez, Sharon Reed (Clint), and Dave Anness, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be held at 6 pm, Friday, December 12, 2014, and Mass will be at 10 am on Saturday, December 13th, both at St. Mary Church in Walsenburg. Services are under the direction of Boies-Ortega Funeral Home, Walsenburg.
