Nickie Lee (Morton) Papez passed away Nov. 30, 2011 in Walsenburg, CO in a fatal one-car accident.
She was born in Rochester, MN to Max and Nancy (Person) Morton, Nov. 21, 1960.
She lived her early years in Fort Collins, CO, where she attended Rocky Mountain High School.
Nicki was preceded in death by her brother, Glen and her grandparents.
She leaves behind her son Chase of Grand Junction, CO, parents Max and Lynn Morton of Colorado Springs, CO, Nancy and Ken Dimick of Fort Collins, Don Pollet a close special friend of Walsenburg, her uncle Howard Person and aunts, Judy Person, Deanna Person of Denver as well as several cousins.
Nicki recently had moved to Johnstown, CO to be closer to family members. She was a vibrant, loving woman who cared about and was loved by many. She gave of herself freely and her family and friends will greatly miss her.
She has left a special blessing for us with hopes for her son, Chase, the most important accomplishment of her life.
Memorial gifts should be given in her name to the animal shelter of your choice.
