Jonathan William Viss, 47, went home to be with his heavenly Father Oct. 18, 2012, in Pueblo. He was born Nov. 6, 1964, in Abington PA, to William and Charlotte Eggink Viss. He was a resident of Weston.
Jonathan is survived by his wife Cheri and three stepdaughters Chevi, Grace and Mary. He is also survived by his parents, William and Charlotte Viss of Abington; brothers Norman and Cindi of Pennsylvania, and Stan and Rachel of Jerusalem, PA; sisters Evy Smith and Bob of Texas and Carol Vandyken and Daryl of Pennsylvania. In addition, he will be missed by his nieces, nephews and close friends.
Jonathan moved to southern Colorado in 1992 and lived in the Weston area for 20 years as a tree arborist and owned and operated Jon’s Tree Service. He was well known in greater Trinidad, Purgatoire Valley, Cuchara Valley, La Veta and Raton, NM for his many talents and services to the communities.
Funeral services will be held at Jonathan and Cheri’s home in Weston at 2 pm Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012. The address of the Viss residence is 19091 Highway 12, which is one mile west of Primero School on the right side of the highway. Burial immediately to follow at Stonewall Cemetary.
The family has entrusted all special arrangements to Mullare-Murphy Funeral Home.
A fund has been established at Century Savings and Loan in Trinidad to assist with Jon’s burial expenses-contact Connie Lyons at the savings and loan.
