Jacquelene Mae Goemmer of La Veta, CO entered into rest, October 15, 2011 at the St. Mary Corwin Medical Center in Pueblo, CO.
She was born May 20, 1936 in Denver, CO to Charles and Ruth Kincaid. She was 75 years of age.
Jacquelene is survived by her husband of 53 years, Otto Goemmer of La Veta, sons; Pete (Susan) Goemmer of La Veta and Cole (Tammy) Goemmer of La Veta; grandchildren, Lon Edward (Caramie) Goemmer of Rifle, CO, Sara Dearmin of La Veta, Lukas (Allison) Dearmin of Evergreen, CO, Tommy of La Veta; great-grandchildren, Jace, Jaiden, Landen, Lukas and Elizah; brother, Bill (Joann) Virdin of Fort Collins, CO, sister, Marty (Douglas) Golding of Australia. She was also an aunt and great aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Robert A. Goemmer and her sister, Cathy Rae Virden.
Jacquelene was a teacher in La Veta and she also operated a title research company called, “Water Wright Title”. She was also very active in several clubs including Rebekah’s, Eastern Star, Tuesday Night Study Club, National Republican Women’s Club, Past President of Colorado Cowbells, Secretary for the Huerfano County Conservancy District, 4H Livestock sales clerk and Booster Club. She also showed Hereford cattle at the National Western Stock Show and she was an accomplished horse women
A visitation will be held at 10 am Friday, October 21, 2011 at the La Veta High School followed by a funeral service at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the La Veta school.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home.
