TRINIDAD — Noah’s Ark Animal Welfare Association announces its first ever $25K in 35 Days Matching Gift Challenge.  For a limited time, now through September 24, friends and supporters of NAAWA have the opportunity to double their donations by participating in this special fundraising campaign.

The $25K in 35 Days campaign kicked off August 2 with the aim to raise funds to help NAAWA continue life-saving work and to launch the new ark (the new animal shelter facility) as soon as possible.  Trinidad native Glen Vaccaro is matching donations to this campaign.  The matching incentive serves to honor the memory of Joe and Dorothy Vaccaro along with their cherished pets Roman, Rags, Mickey, Buttons, and all of the friends throughout Glen’s life who allowed him the honor and privilege of sharing their time on earth with him; including NAAWA special-needs alumni dogs: Rocky, Ruby, and Buddy.

“This match is the largest and one of the most touching, in the history of Noah’s Ark,” said Laurel Young, NAAWA Executive Director. “We are incredibly appreciative of Mr. Vaccaro’s generosity and deeply grateful for the generosity of all our donors and supporters.  Donors and supporters are who make all the good work of our organization possible, enabling the lives of thousands of dogs, cats, kittens and puppies to be saved, each year.”
Contributions to the $25K in 35 Days Matching Gift Challenge can be made to NAAWA by mail, in person, over the phone, or online.  To learn more about the campaign, read a few rescue stories, watch a video sneak peek of the new animal shelter, or to make an online donation visit www.coloradogives.org/25k35daysmatch.
“We are incredibly thankful for our donors’ support,” said Young. “Our community has an astonishing amount of commitment to help homeless pets and we are excited to see their contributions matched.”

Founded in 1998, Noah’s Ark Animal Welfare Association has been operating Las Animas County’s sole animal shelter since 2000. Thanks to the support of donors, NAAWA saves the lives of thousands of homeless pets through vibrant adoption and transfer programs. The nonprofit also serves their rural area with various community programs like low-cost pet vaccinations, microchipping, and spay/neuter vouchers.  For more information, call (719)680-2385, visit www.noahsarktrinidad.org or follow NAAWA on social media.
