No Quorum for Hospital Board

by Brian Orr

WALSENBURG- There was no quorum for the Spanish Peaks Hospital Board on Tuesday, but Hospital Administer Steve Perkins still managed to get a lot done on the agenda.

The big message was the upcoming Health Fair, taking place on April 19.  Blood draws can still be done in La Veta and Gardner in time to see the results at the Fair.

Perkins said the hospital has picked up two experienced trauma nurses, who are relocating to Huerfano County, and one of the two re-vamped X-Ray rooms is up and ready to go.

On April 12, the current Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center and Veteran’s Home will be 15 years old.  The current Board commented on what visionaries the Board of 15 years ago was to get this facility built.
