HUERFANO- The Huerfano World Journal won five awards from the Colorado Press Association’s 2012 Better Newspaper contest.
Reporter Eric Mullens won in the Best Investigative Story Package for his in-depth story and photos on the Amanda Daniels arrest in May.
Sales Associate Debi Sporleder snapped a winning photo of five boys eating ice cream outside Charlies.
The paper also won awards for Best Advertising Slogan-”Weekly news on a daily basis,” and for space and house ads.
