Falcon Flash for May 14, 2009

By LaRae Quintana

and Frank Pizzo

The Gardner School 7th and 8th grade classes took their annual overnight fieldtrip on May 7 and 8. This trip has traditionally been taken to Denver but this year we went to Colorado Springs. We did an abundance of fun and educational things. The first stop was to the Air and Space Museum at Peterson Air Force Base. We tried on an assortment of military uniforms, took a tour of the museum, and explored a large bomber aircraft.

Next, we went to Tinseltown for a movie. We had the choice of watching Monsters vs. Aliens in 3D, X Men, or Knowing. We then had dinner at Carrabba’s a nice Italian restaurant. After our meal we traveled to the Pikes Peak Center to watch Rain, a Tribute to the Beatles. Once the show was over we returned to our motel and swam until midnight. After that everyone was ready to go to sleep!

The next morning we got up, had breakfast, and were ready to leave our motel by 9:00 AM. We went on to the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame. There we went on a scavenger hunt and learned about rodeo stars. Once finished there we went to Mr. Biggs Family Fun Centered and played for two hours before we had to pack up and return to Gardner. Needless to say, fun was had by all students.
