CS Stylings raises money for local group

by Ruth Orr
WALSENBURG —  The first weekend of August is a busy time in our area.  As we move into the final stages of summer, folks are running around doing county fairs, cramming in last-minute-vacations, and prepping for the start of the school year.  And what’s more important than making sure you look your best?
CS Stylings has taken the spirit of the season and run with it.  The first weekend of August each year, they hold a haircut marathon fundraiser for a local cause, making sure everyone looks fresh and feels good.
CS Stylings has in previous years raised more than $700 for the Sangre de Cristo Center for Youth and over $800 for the Huerfano County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.

This year, the fundraiser went to benefit El Fandango Dance.  The club has been around for more than 70 years in the county, teaching traditional Mexican folklorico dances and keeping culture alive.  The event also partnered up with GubGub’s Pizza and Ice Cream, who donated free food for the event, and with Small World Gaming Lounge, who kept patrons busy with board and card games while they waited.
Thanks to the hard work and generosity of the CS Stylings team, the dance program is $600 richer for the year, helping pay for costumes, music, and more.
