WALSENBURG- ALCO, the budget retail company which had been planning to build a new store on the north end of Walsenburg, has terminated its contract on the property. He cited the economic downturn and slow retail sales as the main reasons. “This was an area of great interest- they were really excited to come down here, but the national economy just wasn’t good enough,” Roberts said.
