Candidate Hurd stops by to hear about Huerfano

by Debi Sporleder
WALSENBURG —  Jeff Hurd, candidate for Congressional District 3, was given a tour of Huerfano County by former Speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives Lola Spradley.  After going to Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center to see what is possible in rural Colorado and other stops in the county, Hurd managed to stop in for a coffee at Walsenburg Mercantile and visit with a few locals.

Hurd talked about his family and the desire to preserve rural Colorado.  His platform is that of better jobs for a better economy, empowering working families, energy independence, water protection and agriculture.  He is a Colorado native, hailing from Grand Junction where he, his wife and five children live, and is ready to work for rural Colorado.

He is planning more stops in Huerfano County and will make announcements of future visits.  For more information, go to www.jeffhurdforcolorado.com.
