RE-2 tight-lipped about Seaney

LA VETA- The RE-2 School Board spent a lot of the last weekend in a retreat, and one of the major topics was what to do about Superintendent David Seaney.

    Seaney has been placed on administrative leave after he was arrested three weeks ago for allegedly driving under the influence in a school-owned car.

    Since then, both the Board and Seaney have gotten lawyered up and hunkered down, waiting for Seaney’s blood alcohol readings, due in late January, and his trial date, set for February before making a final decision.

    In the meantime, Board President Sam Law is treading very carefully on any public statements. “We are working as fast as we can,” Law said. “This is a situation; by sticking with the law, we stand the best chance for a successful outcome.  We’re hoping to strike the right balance.”
