New grocery store waiting on CDOT

WALSENBURG- The new grocery store that will be built at the north end of town is waiting for final approval from the Colorado Department of Transportation for the store’s plan for a left-hand turn lane off of Walsen Ave. into their parking lot.

According to Hugh Brown, owner of Colorado Food Stores, Inc.,  the timetable for breaking ground on the establishment is completely up in the air until the approval from CDOT is given.  “We are hoping it all works out- we’re really anxious to get started,” he said.
