Pot bust on I-25

HUERFANO- Colorado State Troopers recovered 587 pounds of marijuana (street value of $587,000) from an accident scene at mile marker 50 on I-25 just before 9 am on Tues. Jan. 27. A 2002 green Suburban pulling a trailer lost control, struck a guard rail, rolled and came to rest in the roadway.  The driver, a 31 year old male from New Mexico, sustained serious injuries and was transported to St. Mary Corwin.  A 27 year old female sustained minor injuries, was treated on scene, arrested and transported to the Huerfano County Jail.  She was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, a Class 4 felony, and unlawful possession of 8 ounces or more of marijuana.  I-25 was closed two hours for accident investigation, cleanup and recovery.  They were enroute to Denver.
