WALSENBURG- A riot at the Huerfano County Correctional Center on Sunday led to a full lockdown for the prison.
According to a Department of Corrections spokesperson, 30 inmates were involved in a fight in the main yard of the facility. One inmate suffered a shoulder injury.
Correctional officers immediately responded and stopped the situation. No weapons were found on the inmates.
The entire facility was then placed in lockdown as a routine safety precaution. It is expected to remain in lockdown until this weekend.
