HUERFANO COUNTY — The Colorado State Patrol investigated a single-vehicle crash that resulted in a single fatality on Interstate 25 near mile marker 52 in Huerfano County Thursday, September 3, 2015. The driver of the 1996 Pontiac Grand Am, Traci L Stevenson, 46, of Pueblo, Colorado was not wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash, and was transported to Parkview Hospital in Pueblo where she was pronounced deceased by the attending physician. According to investigating CSP Trooper Michael Tafoya, Stevenson was traveling north on the highway when she failed to maintain control of the car causing it to run off the right hand side of the road and roll two times. She was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. The Pontiac came to rest on its wheels facing eastbound on the frontage road east of the Interstate. According to a CSP press release this week, drugs and speed are considered a possible contributing factor in the crash.
