Walsenburg passes 2009 budget

WALSENBURG- The Walsenburg City Council formally passed the 2009 budget on Tuesday night, with a total amount of $14,188,879.  This is up slightly from last year’s budget of $13,257,758. This budget includes the begining of construction on the new wastewater treatment plant.

    The Council also passed two resolutions- 2008 R-30, which provides for the appropriation of funds for 2009, and 2008 R-31, which appropriates the levying of general property taxes for 2009.  It also included the mill levy on each dollar’s worth of property as per assessed value.
