Upset in Denver Shocks Crowd

Ortivez Gets Pinned

Denver CO, 7:28 p.m.- A crowd of 15,000 fans crammed the Pepsi Center for the Semi-Final rounds.  They saw La Veta′s Adam Ortivez lose his first match of the season. Adam′s dream of a state title will have to wait another year.  He will wrestle tomorrow for the chance to wrestle for third place. He needs two wins to capture third place, but first he must win a qualifying match tomorrow.  Adam squared off against Chad Terry of Hayden and was in control until a reversal put Adam on the mat.  Chad held him until his shoulders hit the mat and the snap of the official indicating a pin for Chad.  This was Adam′s first loss in 36 matches.
