GARDNER- Fire Chief Brian Sharp gave his report at the Oct. 8, 2008 monthly board meeting. On Oct. 6, fire fighters Buzz Deardorff, Ben Cupps and Chief Sharp went to Gardner School for the annual Fire Prevention Week presentation. The students at Gardner School always look forward to it. On Halloween evening, the fire station will be open to all ghouls and goblins to stop by and get some “goodies”.
The department was out on only one call, which was a wild land fire on Oct. 2, 2008. Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and PPE training was covered for the month of September.
Chief Sharp gave a big thank you to Buzz Deardorff and Diana Cupps for putting such hard work into the standard operating procedures, which the board ratified and approved.
Officers were nominated and approved. Joe Albano was selected as Operation Support Captain, Roy Britt as Operation Support Lt., Buzz Deardorff as Admin Captain, Jason Albano as Training Lt., Ben Cupps as Maintenance Lt., and Diana Cupps as Fire Fighter Chairman.
