Two Rivers Exec quits

COLORADO SPRINGS- Gary Barber, the president and CEO of Two Rivers Water Co. resigned abruptly Monday morning, the same day the company announced the final phase of the purchase of Dionisio Produce & Farms. Russ Dionisio will be responsible for all farming in Huerfano and Pueblo counties. Barber’s response when asked why he resigned was “No comment.”
Two Rivers founder and CEO John McCowan said, “Apparently as a result of the emphasis on farming, and the percieved diminution of responsibility, Barber, without notice and unexpectedly notified the company on Monday by email of his resignation.”
Barber, a Colorado Springs water broker, chairs the Arkansas Basin Roundtable, and has represented El Paso County water interests. He has noted he will be looking for other opportunities.
