Steve Perkins, president and Chief Executive Officer of the Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center, announced his resignation on Tuesday, so that he could devote more time and attention in his bid to become a Huerfano County Commissioner.
“I believe that in that position I cannot only make a difference for the county and our great citizens, but continue to provide support for the SPRHC/ CSVNH Huerfano County Hospital District.
His resignation is effective July 11, 2008. He has been the hospital president for over five years. The hosptial board will immediately begin the search to replace Perkins, which he said he would be happy to assist with.
