CUCHARA- Cuchara resident Steve Perkins, has announced his candidacy for County Commissioner in District 2.
Perkins, who is politically unaffiliated, has been the hospital administrator for the Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center for the past five years, and was named Huerfano County Citizen of the Year in 2005.
He has been active on tourism initiatives, and championed the lodging tax in the 2006 election.
“My strengths are experience, compassion and integrity,” Perkins said.
