Soccer:

Trinidad girls soccer opens season with win

TRINIDAD — Trinidad High School Miners opened the 2018 soccer season with a 1-0 double overtime non-conference victory over Lamar High School at Central Park Field. Lindsey Clark scored the winning goal with two minutes left in the second overtime period. Gabe Peraza was solid in goal. She had 12 saves in her first outing of the season.

Raton splits with Pojoaque

RATON — The Raton Tigers didn’t have the mojo to win their doubleheader, splitting with Pojoaque. Raton won the first game 10-8 then lost game two by the score of 5-4. In game one trailing by four Raton came back to win. In game two Raton opened with three runs in the third and one in the seventh to tie the game at four. Pojoaque scored the winning run in the eighth.
