WALSENBURG — Walsenburg City Council Ward 2 council member Gary Sporcich delivered a letter of resignation to city hall on Monday, May 21.
The letter was addressed to the mayor and city council members and city administration did not make the letter available to the press citing the fact it was addressed to his fellow council members.
Sporcich said he had no comment regarding his resignation when reached by telephone on Tuesday, May 22.
The letter to the council members and mayor did not cite any reason for the resignation.
Sporcich ran unopposed for reelection to the council seat in November 2011. He had been appointed by the city council of former mayor Bruce Quintana.
