Seen and heard for September 4, 2008

LA VETA- Tuesday Night Study Club met on August 18, at the home of Lottie Hastings.

    Those that answered roll call were Peggy Arnold-Hoobler, Betty Brown, Kim Brunner, Claudia Capps, Jean Duzenack, Angie Geiser, Lottie Hastings, Evelyn Heikes, Irene Heikes, Malea Schmidt, Dora Quintana, Audrey Knowles with two guests, Betty Elwell, and Sara Harding.  Roll call answers were interesting and informative.

    The History was read by Evelyn Heikes for 2007 and accepted.  Evelyn Heikes had the program and gave the history of T-Shirts and showed her T-shirt quilt and explained how to prepare the blocks for a quilt.  Several members brought T-shirts to show to everyone.

    Lottie served scrumptious refreshments, which everyone really enjoyed.

WALSENBURG- The Class of 1958 St. Mary Crusaders High School reunion was held Friday and Saturday August 1- 2, with  everyone coming together to visit,  reminisce, and just enjoy each other’s company. On Friday night everyone gathered for hors d′oeuvres, and on Saturday there was a steak dinner which was enjoyed by everyone.  Decorations were the school colors of gold and blue. 

    Marlene came the farthest, she now lives in Henderson, Nevada.  The only locals represented are Josephine Pino, Jackie Ugolini and Donald Andreatta.
