WALSENBURG  — Walsenburg Police responded to a residence in the 300 block of West Third Street shortly after 7 am Thursday, January 16 and have confirmed one death inside of the home and unknown but serious injuries to a male party who was discovered on the sidewalk outside of the home by a neighbor.

WPD Chief Tommie McLallen said a neighbor notified 911 when she found the man on the sidewalk this morning, conscious, but injured.  The nature of the victim’s injuries have not been released, but he was initially transported to Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center then transported via Flight for Life to Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo.

McLallen confirmed a deceased female was found inside of the home, but details regarding the mode and manner of death are not being released at this time.  Two teams of Colorado Bureau of Investigation technical investigators, from both Pueblo and Denver, will be assisting the WPD in the criminal investigation.  “This remains our case,” McLallen said, “our lead investigator for this incident is Lt. Neither victim have been officially identified.
