Crowley County-The deck was stacked against the John Mall Panthers as they attempted to earn a spot in the divisional playoffs. There was so much which had to happen for the Panthers to advance. First, they needed to hold Crowley County to 8 points. Next, they had to score 21. Neither of those events happened, as the Panthers lost 18-14 to the Chargers.
The Cats will have a make-up game on Saturday at Panther Field beginning at 1pm, against the Custer County Bobcats. The Bobcats rescheduled last month’s game due to a school-wide illness which shut the complex down for three days.
The Panthers are looking to improve on this seasons 2-7 record and will play this game for posterity. Given their performance over the past three weeks, this is a much improved Panther team who are looking for their first home field victory to end the season.
