Obituary William Howard DeVan

William Howard DeVan 1954 ~ 2014 William Howard DeVan, 59, known to everyone as “Willie”, was found deceased last week in his apartment. Born in Walsenburg on December 17, 1954 to the late Edgar C. DeVan, Jr. and Lucy DeVan, Willie attended Walsenburg schools, graduating from Walsenburg High School in 1973. He worked in the Allen Mine for several years before moving to Denver where he was a truck driver for many years. Willie loved music and dancing and was a rabid Denver Broncos fan, as well as an avid reader. William is survived by 11 brothers and sisters: Edgar C. DeVan III (Consuelo) of Walsenburg; Sheila Ann Bell (Bill) of Vineland, NJ; Lucille L. Holmes (Milton) of Philadelphia, PA; Ruth L. Coleman (Dennis) of Troy, MI; Shirley J. Hayes (Michael) of Savannah, GA; Gladys L. Arthur (George) of Walsenburg; Homer M. DeVan (Debbie) of Thornton; Karen M. Mc Fadden (Clarence) of North Versailles, PA; Joe E. DeVan (Brenda) of Walsenburg; James G. DeVan

(Barbara) of Seattle, WA; and Deborah L. Inge (Fred) of Aurora. He had numerous neices and nephews, as well as many cousins, and one uncle, Ernest DeVan of Denver. Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Boies-Ortega Memorial Chapel in Walsenburg.
