William Earnest ‘Goldie’ Golden Jr., 80, left this world to be with the Lord on May 5, 2012. ‘Goldie’, William, was born on June 23, 1931 in Woodbine, Iowa.
‘Goldie’, William, was preceded in death by his parents, several brothers and sisters, and his wife, Angelina Golden.
He is survived by his son, Glen (Marilyn) Golden of Walsenburg; four sisters, Jessie Smith, Woodbine, Iowa, Lucille Mathison, Woodbine, Iowa, Janice (Larry) Douglas, Woodbine, Iowa, and Janet (George) Letson, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two grandsons, Kevin (Judie) Anselmo, Pueblo, Colo. and Jason (Janette) Golden, Thornton, Colo., as well as by three great-granddaughters and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
‘Goldie’, William, spent an active life. After high school he entered the Navy. Following the Navy he worked construction, worked on the Golden ranch and spent many years working at CF&I. After retiring from CF&I, he worked at Walsenburg’s 7-11. Following his work at 7-11, he stayed on the ranch until he went into the Colorado State Veterans’ Nursing Home in January 2011, where he resided until his death.
Services will be held at 10 am May 10, 2012 at Boies-Ortega Funeral Home, 115 E. Fifth St., in Walsenburg, Colo.
