OBituary- Walter (Walt) Abraham Chamberlain

Walter (Walt) Abraham Chamberlain passed away on June 12, 2015 at home on the Chamberlain Family Ranch near Walsenburg, Colorado. He was 84. He was born on the family homestead, the Figure 2 Ranch in Lincoln County Nebraska, on July 7, 1930. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Irma Chamberlain, and his sister, Beverly Nutter. Walt is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Mary Ann Chamberlain, and his six children who he loved dearly and in whom he took great pride; Greg (Cheri) Chamberlain, Jim (Shawna) Chamberlain, Jason Chamberlain, Cash (Candi) Chamberlain, Julie (Garth) Ahner, and Lori (David) Berger. His nine grandchildren also brought great joy to his life; Bryanna Chamberlain, Brock and Amy Chamberlain, Natalie Ahner, and Katie, Gage, Jordan, Justin, and Austin Berger. He was blessed with one great-grand daughter, Presley Chamberlain. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Hawkins; and his nieces and nephews. Walt will always be remembered for his love of his family, his big smile, firm handshake, and bear hugs; his appreciation of the land and good horses, and his ability to tell a good story. Walt requested he be cremated, and his ashes will be scattered on the family ranch during a private service for family and friends in the coming weeks.
