Tranquilino “Lino” Sanchez

    Tranquilino “Lino” Sanchez, 82, was called home by our Lord on May 18, 2010.  Born, February 26, 1928 in Huerfano County.  He worked as the Chief of Police for the Walsenburg Police Department for many years and retired in 1975.  He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Bernice; granddaughter, April Sanchez; parents, Alvina and Tranquilino; siblings, Jennie Meehan, John, Nick and Anthony Sanchez.  He is survived by his sons, Larry Sanchez, Denver, Paul (Cathy) Sanchez, Maryland, Steven Sanchez, Pueblo; and daughter-in -law, Brenda Sanchez, Pueblo; seven grandchildren, Erin (Ryan) Balderston, Kansas, Lena Exline, Colorado Springs, Tranquilino (Cheryl) Sanchez, Pueblo, Raina Sanchez, Pueblo, Anthony Sanchez, Pueblo, Alex Dussault, Maryland, Caryl Diaz, US Virgin Islands; ten great grandchildren; along with his many nieces and nephews.  Although his presence will be greatly missed, his love and wisdom will be carried on throughout the generations.  A memorial service was held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, May25, 2010 at St. Mary Catholic Church.
