Ralph Calvin Hickey

Ralph Calvin Hickey was born to John and Sarah Hickey on April 27, 1924 in Meade County Kansas, and departed this life on September 3, 2013 at the age of 89 years.
He now joins the love of his life, Violet; they had been married for 68 years before her passing in 2010.
Survivors include two sons, Travis (Mitch) Hickey, of Brush, CO, Bill John (Tammy) Hickey of La Veta, CO; as well as by seven grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Travette Wells, of La Veta, CO, Jenny (Wayne) Peil, of Grand Junction, CO, Jace (Lana) Hickey, Snyder, CO, Russell (Annalee) Hickey, La Veta, CO, Justin Price, La Veta, CO, Chance (Tomi) Price, La Veta, CO, Trey Price, Carter, OK; five great-grandchildren, Zac Wells, Piper Jo Hickey, Bentley Hickey, Lillian Hickey and Truitt Price; sister Doris (Leland) Litke, Broomfield, NM; foster son and brother-in-law, Gerald Dillon, and foster son, Bud Van Lue.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Violet, and daughter, Dixie.
He was a member of the La Veta Masonic Lodge No. 59; Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, 32*; and Cowboys of Christ. He was a WW II veteran.
Cremation and memorial services were held at the La Veta Cemetery, Wednesday, September 11, 2013. The service was done by Masonic Lodge Brothers, and Bud Van Lue. Music by grandson Jace Hickey.
