Milo Rogers Jr. of Walsenburg, died after a brief but extremely valiant battle with cancer. Milo was born to Milo Sr. and Florence D. Rogers in Pueblo, CO on June 20, 1948.
Milo was preceded in death by his father, Milo Rogers Sr., and mother, Florence D. Rogers, and also by a younger brother, John, who died at birth.
He is survived by his wife, Lynette Rogers of the family home in Walsenburg, and a brother David (Diana) of Walsenburg. He is also survived by his uncles, Thomas Rogers of Walsenburg, Bill Rogers of Walsenburg, and Dick (Lynn) Rogers of Padroni, CO. He is also survived by his aunt, Ruthie (Tom) Zellar of Colorado City as well as by numerous cousins, and many, many friends he made along the way.
Milo lived his life on his own terms, and never met anyone he didn’t like. He enjoyed ranching and working with livestock, and mainly life in general. He had a true connection to the land and all the things he could successfully coax from it. He had quite a green thumb when it came to gardens.
By his request, there will be no viewing or service. Cremation has taken place.
His wife will plan for a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of food or flowers, any donations could be made to the Trinidad Inn, 409 Benedicta, Trinidad, CO 81082. Their amazing care of him during his final days was greatly appreciated.
