Martha L. Wood, 96, of Walsenburg, died Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the Walsenburg Care Center where she had been a resident. Mrs. Wood was born August 18, 1914 in Martinsville, Indiana to Roy and Nora Kindred. She was married to Marshal L. Wood and lived in Texas and Florida as well as Colorado, and visited Mexico. She was quite the traveler. Besides being a great mother, she ventured in deep sea diving, fishing, hunting, camping and loved to sing as she was enjoying a car ride. She is survived by her two sons, Jerry and Terry, a daughter, Janice, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers Frank and Harry, twin sisters, Judy and Joann, also her sister Mary. Services were held Saturday, December 11, 2010, 10 am at the Lighthouse Worship Center in Walsenburg, with Pastor Lou McDonald officiating. Burial was at La Veta Cemetery.
