Lillian E. Burch

    Lillian E. Burch of Walsenburg, passed away in Pueblo, Dec. 9, 2010.  She is survived by her mother, Ophelia Martinez of Walsenburg; husband, John Burch; children, John, Berrie (Bruce) Quintana, and Bryan (June) Burch; grandchildren, Ashley (Chris Correnti), John, Erin and Mathew Burch; Garret and Ty Quintana; Brittany (Mat) Rael, Tyler, Bryan Jr. and Anjelica Burch; great-grandchildren, Jiovanni Correnti and Daken Rael; sisters, Theresa (Art) Gaytan, Gloria (Emmett) Olivas, Joy (Benjamin) Aguirre, Lori Sheffield; and brother, Tony (Gail) Martinez.  She was preceded in death by her father Leonard Martinez, sister Vicky Chavka and brother Albert Martinez.

    In 1970, Lillian,her husband John and brother-in-law Earl Burch became owners of the Moon Glow Lounge. In 1975 she took over the entire operation of the business. During this time she met many people from all walks of life.  She loved her job and loved her customers.  Lillian will always hold the wonderful people of Walsenburg close to her heart

    Lillian had a heart of gold and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  Lillian loved cooking and baking for her family and always had a home cooked meal for her grandchildren who were the joy of her life.  She also loved attending their school and sporting events.  In addition, she enjoyed gambling in New Mexico, shopping, and of course, the holidays.  She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

    Rosary, Tuesday Dec. 14, 2010 at 7 pm at St. Mary Church, Funeral Mass, 11 am Wed. Dec. 15, 2010, also at St. Mary Church, Walsenburg.  At Lillian′s request there was no viewing.
