Kristal Elizabeth Ferren
11-15-1967 ~ 12-13-2012 Kristal Elizabeth Ferren was born November 15, 1967 in Walsenburg, Colorado to Roberta Jean Bustos and Charles Leroy Gomez.
Kristal went to school in Walsenburg, Colorado and graduated from John Mall High School in 1986. She danced with the El Fandango, was engaged in track and field, basketball and cheerleading. She attended the Nanny Institute of Beverly Hills and worked in Beverly Hills and Hawaii where she met and married Dustin Ferren. Together they moved to Spain where they had two daughters, Brooke Elizabeth Ferren and Sierra Rae Ferren.
In 2001 Kristal and her daughters moved to Walsenburg to be closer to her family.
She was employed with the Walsenburg Housing Authority and worked as the only woman with the maintenance crew. Kristal could fix anything. She was very active as a Walsenburg Cheerleading sponsor and raised money for numerous events and charities and institutions including: the Girl Scouts of America, Peakview School and Walsenburg High School.
She will be greatly missed by all that had the honor of knowing her.
She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her 2 daughters were her life and she loved them more than anything.
Kristal entered into rest on December 13th, 2012 and was then reunited with her Grandparents, Seledon and Emma Gomez, Ray and Monica Bustos, Aunt Viola Gomez and cousin Emmily Ann Cordova.
She is survived by her amazing daughters Brooke Ferren and Sierra Ferren; mother, Roberta Bustos; father Charles Gomez; step father Anthony Garcia; brothers, Chuck Gomez, Jerome Garcia, Jeremiah Garcia; sisters, Monica Gomez and Lacie Garcia; nieces, Jacqueline Santistevan, Alyssa Garcia, Angel Garcia, Alexis Sprague, Olivia Sprague; nephews, Jayson Santistevan, Jake Garcia, Caden Garcia, Gerald Sprague; Godparents Gilbert Gomez and Debi Bustos as well as by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends including June Tenorio, Maribel Mendoza, Celena Trujillo and Summer Montoya.
A Rosary for Kristal will be held 1 pm Thursday, December 20, 2012 followed by Memorial Service at 1:30 pm, St. Mary Church, Walsenburg.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of the Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home.
