Kenna Julia Rodriguez, 37 years old, passed away unexpectedly in Pueblo, Colorado on September 25, 2012 after an accidental fall three days earlier.
Kenna was the eldest daughter of Frank Rodriguez and Joyce Abila-Hacsi and big sister to Adam and Donovan Rodriguez. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on August 3, 1975, and grew up in Gillette, Wyoming and Walsenburg, Colorado.
She graduated from Campbell County High School in Gillette in 1993. She was the owner and instructor at the KJ Dance Studio in Walsenburg from 1993 to 1995.
Kenna then studied as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and later graduated as a Registered Nurse from Trinidad State Junior College in 2000. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center in Walsenburg, at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, and at the Lifecare Center in Pueblo. Many of her former patients remember Kenna’s warm smile and her wonderful care.
Kenna was a loving, devoted mother to her three children, Rhea, 17, Tea, 14, and Xavier, 8, and a dedicated wife to her husband, Tim Cisneros. The family lived in Pueblo and has fond memories of Kenna giving her kids big kisses and hugs. Kenna will be remembered for her kind, nurturing, and fun nature. She was known for her infectious laughter and her humorous attitude in all aspects of her life.
Kenna is survived and deeply missed by her parents Frank and Joyce, her brothers Adam and Donovan, her sister-in-law Tanya Rodriguez, her stepfather Jim Hacsi, her grandparents Virginia (Rodriguez) Trujillo and Sergio and Dora Abila, her uncles and aunts John and Edith Rodriguez, Fred and Geri Rodriguez, Max and LeCita Rodriguez, Mario (Gloria) Gonzales, Sergio and Christie Abila, Ivan Abila, Bernadette and Dave Lauck, Sylvia and Brion Steven, Roger and Millie Valdez, Pauline and Manuel Sanchez, Gary and Vonnie Valdez, and countless cousins, extended family, co-workers, and friends. Kenna was preceded in death by her grandparents, Julia Abila and Zeke Rodriguez.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Kenna Rodriguez will take place at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Walsenburg, Colorado. Afterwards, her ashes will be buried at the Chama Cemetery, and dinner will be served at 1:00 pm at the Gardner Community Center in Gardner, Colorado. The family would like to thank all of the doctors and support staff at the St. Mary-Corwin Hospital in Pueblo for their tireless efforts and superb care of our Kenna. We also thank all of the family and friends who visited, called, sent prayers, and left messages of concern and condolence, all of which are greatly appreciated during this difficult time.
