Barbara Jean Ortiz Patch was born March 2, 1949 in Walsenburg, Colorado to Edward and Norena Ortiz. She died May 18, 2011 in Walsenburg after an extended illness.
She graduated from Walsenburg High School. She worked as a legal secretary, waitress and bartender. She loved working with people.
She raised her sons Norward and Samuel mostly on her own. In 1998, she met Brian Patch and they married in 2001.
Her greatest loves were her children, grandchildren, and diverse extended family. She enjoyed fishing, camping, computer games and penny slots. She was a fabulous cook.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Jack. She is survived by her son Norward Wilson (wife Becky) of Pueblo; and grandchildren, Stephanie, Dominic, Dustin, Nicolas Wilson; her son, Sam Wilson of Walsenburg; and her grandaughter Raven Wilson.
She is also survived by her sisters, Dolores Lingo, Dorothy Ortiviz, Emily Ortiz; and her brothers Art Ortiz (wife Sharon), and Richard Ortiz (wife Wanda).
She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family.
