James Andrew Dexter 6-15-1949 ~ 2-27-2014 Jim Dexter of Walsenburg and formerly of Littleton, Colorado, went to heaven to be with the Lord on February 27, 2014. He was born June 15, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio to George James and Patricia McNab Dexter. He served 8 years in the US Army as a Communications and Security Specialist in the White House Communications Agency in Washington, D.C. He was honorably discharged in 1978 as a Staff Sergeant. On July 26, 1995 he married Judy Koon in Littleton, CO. For most of his professional life, Jim was an Executive Operations Manager and Franchise Consultant for several restaurant companies, most notably Ponderosa Steak Houses and Little Caesars Pizza. His hobbies included motorcycles, fast cars, 4-wheelers, guns, his dogs, and his kids – his own, as well young people who worked for him and attended church youth groups. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia, and his father, George, and his youngest sister, Julie Dexter. He is survived by his beloved wife Judy; his sisters, Pam (Terry) Tate, Andrea “Andy” (Jack) Crain, and Dee (Mike) Hively; his children, Jennifer (Brian) Shar, Joshua Dexter, Jessica (Grant) Wilson, Megan (Jonathan) Perkins, Garrett Dexter, Lauri Reese and Kristi O’Neill; grandchildren, Jacob, Jenae, Jeneca, Jalea and Jiana Shar, Kincaid and Finley Wilson, Solomon and Baby#2 Perkins, Kalleigh Eisley, Tarah and Alexandra Reese; one great-grandchild; and 27 nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Huerfano Community Bible Church, Walsenburg at 11 am on Saturday, March 8, 2014.
