He then worked with the U.S. Forestry Department for many years until he started with the Huerfano County Road and Bridge Crew in La Veta, CO until his retirement. Ivan was always a quiet man who enjoyed
being with family and his grandchildren. He loved his Denver Broncos and also enjoyed being outdoors camping and fishing. He was always caring and helpful to many of the elderly folks around Walsenburg, accomplishing many of the odd jobs and tasks that were asked of him. Ivan was a member of the Full Gospel Church in Walsenburg and worshipped his Lord in his own quiet way. He will never be forgotten, missed always, and is loved endlessly by so many. The family would like to thanks all those who came to pay respects and celebrate the life of Ivan John Griego. A special thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center and the veterans home, Sangre de Cristo Hospice, and Parkview Medical Center.
