Irene Romero, of Pueblo, formerly of Walsenburg, CO entered into rest, February 9, 2012 in Pueblo.
She was born January 18, 1917 in Pryor, CO to Clarence and Librada Cordova. She was 95 years of age.
Irene is survived by her sister, Margaret D. Vigil of Walsenburg; daughter, Priscilla (Fred) Pino of La Veta; grandchildren, James Romero of Las Cruces, NM, Juanita Pino of La Veta, Charlotte Pino of Walsenburg, Sylvia Pino of Denver, CO, Matthew Pino of Walsenburg, Gail Pino of La Veta and Barbara Pino of La Veta; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Romero; parents, Clarence and Librada Cordova and sister, Eursie Roybal.
Irene and her husband were very generous and caring. After they retired, they would have their nieces over for lunch every day while they were in elementary school. Irene was very funny and liked to joke with everyone. You knew she liked you, if she gave you a hard time.
She will be greatly missed.
A beautiful funeral service was held for Irene at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Walsenburg.
Arrangements were entrusted to Johnson-Romero Funeral Home.
