Obituary Gina “Jean” M. Leri

Gina “Jean” M. Leri, 104, beloved wife, sister, and aunt, died Monday, March 7, 2016 at her apartment at Sharmar Village Care Center in Pueblo after battling cancer and resulting complications. A long time resident of the La Veta area, and Pueblo early in her married life, she had returned to Pueblo for assisted living services over the last three years. Her kindness and charity were her hallmarks, and she was never too busy to help one and all in any way she could. Active through the years in various chicken, dairy, and trout farming operations, cattle ranching, and horseback riding, she focused on homemaking, and enjoyed collecting recipes, a variety of crafts, gardening, and visiting with friends and family in her later years. She was likely best known for her love of the Lord and children, and perfection of all aspects of cooking! She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Leri; sister Theresa Andreatta; and brothers Robert and Gino Andreoli. She is survived by her nieces Barbara (Bruce) Thompson, Diane Walter, Joan (Larry) Marcinkewicz, Lorraine Townley, Patty Leri, Pearl Gibson, and Teresa (Dale) Bernal; nephews David (Cindy) Andreatta, Donald Andreoli, George (Joyce) Leri, Peter (Coleen) Leri, Simon Leri; special friends Gary, Megan, and Vonnie Valdez; Jerry (Linda) Hayes, and numerous other family and friends. Her family wishes to express their most sincere appreciation for all the prayers, visits, cards, and flowers from thoughtful relatives and friends during her struggle. She will be sorely missed. Services arranged by Boies-Ortega Funeral Home in Walsenburg, CO. Vigil Rosary was at 10 am Saturday, March, 12, with Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at Christ the King Catholic Church in La Veta, CO. Interment was at La Veta Cemetery follow the funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to hospice.
