Geraldine “Jeri” McAlpine
Funeral services for former longtime Huerfano County resident Geraldine “Jeri” McAlpine were held Monday, June 9, 2008, in Lamar, Colorado. Mrs. McAlpine, 94, was born on November 11, 1913, in Bucklin, KS to James and Nellie Smith.
Mrs. McAlpine was preceded in death by her father and mother, James and Nellie Smith; husband Mackie McAlpine; son William Hudson; sister Gertie Davis. She is survived by son James (Charlene) Hudson (Wiley); grandchildren Tanya (Tom) Hibpshman (Walsenburg), Marci-Lee Greeman (Colorado Springs), William Hudson II (Walsenburg), Cathy Smotherman (Wiley), Sheri (Rex) Centner (Wiley); sister Dorothy Hudson (Walsenburg), several great and great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution, may do so directly to a charity of the donor’s choice or through Valley memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar.
