Obituary- Garfield Tenorio

    Garfield Tenorio, 69, went to be with the Lord on April 12, 2009.  He was born on August 12, 1939 to Basilio and Romalita Tenorio in Walsenburg, CO. 

    He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Maxine; his daughter, Yvette (Robert) Pineda; his son, Lewis (Christy) Tenorio; and his grandchildren Angela and Travis Pineda, Angel and Lewis Tenorio, and Ashley Trujillo.  He is also survived by his brother Wilfred (Eufemia) Tenorio; sister Velma Atencio; brothers-in-law Julian (Anita) Cisneros, Mike (Juanita) Cisneros and Ronnie Trujillo; and his sisters-in-law DeDe Aranda and Liz Tenorio. 

    He was preceded in death by his parents Basilio and Romalita Tenorio; in-laws Angelo and Annie Cisneros; brothers, Edward and Oris Tenorio; sisters, Frances Gallegos, Gloria Trujillo; and special friend Faustino Griego.

    Garfield retired from the Rio Grande Railroad after 35 years.  He loved caring for his many horses and chickens. He also loved taking kids to the farm to ride horses. 

    Rosary and Memorial Mass to be held Friday, April 17th at 2 pm at St. Mary Catholic Church, with burial after services at North Veta Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Eagles Hall.
