Fred F. Grubelnik, age 87, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015. Fred was born on October 12, 1927, in Barela Mesa, Colorado to Gust and Mary Grubelnik. Fred served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in August 1947. He was a life long rancher in Colfax County, NM. Fred was preceded in death by his parents and one younger brother, Jim Grubelnik. He is survived by his wife, Louise (Milavec) Grubelnik; one daughter, Janice and husband Eric Honeyfield of Las Cruces; three sons, Tom and wife Cathy Grubelnik of Raton, George Grubelnik of Raton, and John Grubelnik of Maxwell; one brother, Joe Grubelnik of Walsenburg, CO; along with nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mass of the Resurrection was on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the St. Patrick – St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 10 am with Father John Trambley as the celebrant. Rite of Christian burial was in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Raton. The celebration of love for Fred F. Grubelnik was under the direction of the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home of Raton.
